4D Bioreactor with Vital Stimuli
To create differentiation conditions for the best ideal stem cell culture and 3D culture, vital stimuli should be necessarily added.Biotron, Inc. provides special designed and functioned cell culture cartridge and disposable cell culture cartridge for various bio-physical stimuli according to demands of researchers. Bio-stimulation function was impossible in the conventional flask culture and general bioreactor vessel.
For example, ultrasound effect to uptake of nutrients and secretion of products by the increasing permeability of cell membrane. It is promote and increase cell reproducibility and productivity, and help for operation of perfusion culture system by prevent of cell aggregation.
Shear stress will be negative effect to cell growth. Pressure, shear stress (hydrodynamic stress), rapid temperature shift, or physical attraction also effect to the cell. Electric impulse have principal role to cell differentiation by the effect permeability of cell membrane. For example, periodically programmed special electrical stimulation sometimes helps to oriented differentiation during co-culture stem cell with cord blood cell. As another factors, intense, wave-length, period of light also various effects to various product formation.

Because we think Feed (media, cytokine, growth factor, vitamin etc.), Micro-environment (pH, temperature, suspension/anchorage cell culture condition), Aspiration (O2, CO2, N2, Air), Stimulus is important four main factors for cell culture so called 4D is feed, environment, aspiration, and stimulus.

pH control setup - Control peristaltic pumps, gas and other factors which are needed for the contron of pH or pH-stat by setting-up PID value Setup, Calibration and Re-calibration ? pH, DO, agitation, temperature, pressure, pulse, flow, level, gas, tubidity, density, weight, and gas mixer.
Various system setup- Flexible customized system configuration according to type of cartridges, number of cartridges, kinds of tissue and cell, origin of cell, and type of additional external vessels.



The highest level user sets the access limit to the system. According to the user list, he can set the accessibility to the menu such as Setup, Configuration, Calibration, PID control, Alarm, ID & Password.

The user conducts all items related to DO module such as Setup, Calibration, and Control. In DO related setup, the user set the basic data, calibration method, sensor related setup, and control related items. In calibration, it is calibrated as per the sensor. In control, the user tests control method as per PID control and set the PID constant.

This is the setup related to the data log which is to see the report the stored data in the inner memory, and to see the cell image taken in the middle of culture and saved it to the external memory. The user can set the storage time, storage method such as the external memory, PC communication, CAN communication, etc. For the report, 128MBygte can be used in the flash memory installed in CPU board. The user can see these data in the system and transfer to the external memory. Lastly, image the function both to transfer the cell image to the external memory and to see in the system.
